System Logistics introduced the new APTs system at Drinktec 2017

The Automatic Pick to Pallet System (APPS) is a robotic solution that allows the preparation of multi-flavored pallets according to pre-defined combinations of packages.
Specifically designed for food, beverage, and bottler manufacturers, APPS allows a wide range of mixed pallets to be tailored to customer requirements.
APPS is the ideal solution for the food & beverage automation of picking processes characterized by a SKU of up to 1000 and a large number of orders with good repetition.

The APPS system uses two new features:

• A fast rotation storage system (FRS), which guarantees the speed of picking operations;
• A robotic handling / manipulation system that can pick up from the source pallet cartoons, bills, boxes, and so on. and store them in mixed pallets thanks to a highly reliable laser vision system.

In the APPS system, single neck management is delegated to an anthropomorphic robot equipped with a sophisticated vision system that performs all handling and manipulation of different packages (cartons, bundles, crates, etc.) by drawing them directly from the source pallets and composing the mixed pallet, making the whole process smooth, efficient, simple.
The basis for the operation of the APPS system is the studies and developments developed by System Logistics.
On Best Fit software, a volumetric calculation algorithm that automatically determines the best palletization scheme.
