CAPRARI Spa

Icim delivers Caprari the first certificate in Italy: Product compatible with water intended for human consumption

The certification of the leading water pumps and solutions company for the water cycle anticipates the European revision of regulations on materials used in drinking water systems.

Gaetano Trizio, amministratore delegato di ICIM, consegna il premio ad Alberto Caprari di Caprari spaThere could be no better framework for the release of the first ICIM certificate according to the scheme "Products and components used in contact with water intended for human consumption": at the Bari Water Festival, the Managing Director of ICIM SpA, Gaetano Trizio , has delivered to Alberto Caprari, Managing Director and General Manager of CAPRARI SpA, as well as Chairman of ANIMA Confindustria, the certification for Submersible Pumps, used for the capture of water from the wells.

These are the first two certificates issued in Italy and Caprari, the European leader in the design and realization of water solutions.

Alberto Caprari says: "Water is the most precious resource for Man: for us, in Caprari, a daily passion. We always respect people and the environment and we choose the best materials every day, transforming them with the most advanced green technologies.

ICIM Certification recognizes our consolidated business modus and marks a new phase in the ever closer relationship with our partners and customers: both in the projection of national and European regulatory and legislative development, and as a distinctive element that puts us at the top of the qualitative level".

The new ICIM certification scheme is aimed at all pipeline manufacturers, pumps, valves, reservoirs for water containment and heating, as well as for water, faucet and water treatment plant and components manufacturers. With this ICIM scheme, the company's compliance with the design and production of the products and the choice of the relevant materials to prevent "out of stock" is verified by the ICIM, guaranteeing the quality and health of water intended for human consumption, that is, all that related to the preparation of foods and beverages or other domestic uses.

Manufacturers are now responsible for checks on all the products used in the supply chain from the aquifer to the point of delivery and must indicate their conformity before being placed on the market (Decreto Ministeriale n.174 del 2004) but the indications may be dropped also because of the difficulty that companies face on the merits of the fulfillment and control of production processes as well as documentation that demonstrates compliance with legal requirements.

With ICIM certification, companies can handle the risks of chemical or physical deliveries and identify the correct compliance of their processes and laboratory tests to the legislative requirements. Annual audits of the production system and sales evidence on a sample of materials / products allow verification of ICIM's retention in the 5 years of validity.

The ICIM volunteer certification scheme, recognized by Accredia, follows the same principles as the basis for the ongoing revision of the National Rules on "Materials and Objects that can be used in fixed installations for the collection, treatment, supply and distribution of water intended for human consumption": a review that is expected to be imminent. This new National Regulation will allow the approximation of Italian legislation to that developed by some European States (Germany, England, France and Denmark, later Portugal) to harmonize their respective national legislation and to reach common parameters on materials and products in contact with water intended for human consumption. The objective is to facilitate the correct application of the European Directive 98/83 / EC known as the DWD - Drinking Water Directive, whose compliance often renders the free movement of goods between countries differently. Not only that: the public's awareness of water is growing and, in general, the legislator's rigor has to be made more stringent on the hygiene-sanitary criteria for drinking water.
