Rupture discs and safety devices for the food industry

In the food sector there is a long series of bioprocesses such as fermentation-for which a constant temperature is required, which is guaranteed by a refrigeration system. Should this fail, the pressure would rise in an uncontrolled manner, which makes it necessary to install bioreactors with special rupture disks to avoid the risk of damage to the system. These must respond to stringent hygiene rules, and be able to withstand empty conditions without supports.

The Donadon SDD NS Nanoscored rupture discs are particularly suitable for aseptic applications in the food industry and for all aseptic applications, for systems with C.I.P. (cleaning in place) and S.I.P. (steaming in place), and productions conforming to Good Manufacturing Standards or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). They can be inserted in Clamp fittings (sanitary fittings, Tri-Clamp, Tank Connection), they are entirely made of metal (AISI 316L stainless steel or other alloys according to customer requirements) and have a smooth surface in contact with the process.

NS Nano Scored technology makes it possible to realize breakage discs with a wide spectrum of breakage pressionids for all diameters.

In many cases the Donadon SDD NS NanoScored discs can be made with intrinsic vacuum resistance, without the need for supports. Particularly significant is the availability of discs for non-PED applications (pressure lower than 0.5 barg) and vacuum-resistant for diameters 1 "1/2 (DN 40) and higher.

The NS Nano Scored series for Clamp fittings includes both conventional (tensioned) rupture discs such as the SCD model, and reverse (compression) discs such as the SCR, Y90 and KRD models.

The standard gaskets are FDA certified PTFE. NS Nano Scored rupture discs can be supplied on request with gaskets certified according to USP class VI regulations.
