Vinitaly International Packaging Competition 2018, here are the winners

Also this year the 22nd edition of the International Packaging Competition ended, which saw as protagonists more than 226 Italian and non-Italian champions who, also for this year, tried to create classic labels but at the same time giving space to the creativity.

To the wine "Benaco Bresciano Igt Merlot Notte a San Martino 2014" of the Olivini Agricultural Company of Desenzano del Garda (BS) has been assigned "The label of the year 2018" while the Carlo Pellegrino & C. of Marsala (TP) wins the Special "Packaging 2018" Award. The Azienda Agricola Fontefico dei F.lli Altieri in Vasto (CH) wins the Special Award "Coordinated Image 2018".

Cristiano Seganfreddo, president of the jury comments "We see the effort to reach a new consumer, which today requires more simplicity but attention to detail. So in the wine, the detail we find at the tasting we want to see it with our eyes".

The jury of examiners was also composed of a series of internationally renowned experts: Flavio Favelli (art director), Chiara Tomasi (designer), Aldo Guglielminotti (designer), Marco Fogliatti (designer) and Alberto Sabellico (expert in wine legislation).

Eleven are the categories in competition to get on the podium:

• still white wines with designation of origin and geographical indication;
• natural sweet wines and still liqueur wines with designation of origin and geographical indication;
• still rosé wines with designation of origin and geographical indication;
• still red wines with designation of origin and geographical indication of the 2017 and 2016 years;
• still red wines with designation of origin and geographical indication of the 2015 and previous years;
• sparkling wines with a designation of origin and a geographical indication;
• classic method sparkling wines and charmat method;
• distillates from grapes, marcs, must and wine;
• distillates with different origins from grapes;
• liqueurs;
• extra virgin olive oil.
  

All winners of the Special Prizes and Gold, Silver and Bronze Labels of the different categories will be exhibited from April 15th to 18th during Vinitaly.
