Z-Roll roll-fed rotary labeller

Z-Roll machines are hot-melt reel-fed rotary labellers which apply paper or plastic wrap-around labels from a reel onto empty and full cylindrical or shaped containers.
The labelling unit servomotor precisely controls stretch of the film, which is unwound, cut and transferred to the container by means of vacuum technology. The stainless steel glue roll distributes glue on the edges of the labels. The roll is designed to guarantee minimum glue consumption.
The machine can reach a production speed of between 8,000 and 72,000 strokes/hour with a single labelling unit and can be customised with a range of optional features (automatic reel splicing for continuous operation, drying or heat-shrinking tunnel, Hercules, vertical reel loading system, electronic orientation system, pressurisation system for processing empty bottles, control of presence of label on bottle, installation of inkjet or laser encoders).
Key technical characteristics include a motor-driven cutting drum with a servomotor synchronised with the machine’s main servomotor. The cutting unit consists of a roller equipped with double rotating knife which interferes with the static blade. This creates a scissor effect that guarantees a perfect cut and a long knife lifetime. The servomotor-operated glue roll is secured to the horizontal mobile support that moves back and forth depending on whether or not a bottle is present (no bottle no label). The glue tank is equipped with a new filtering system that prevents any labelling residues from entering and obstructing the supply. The double reel support is operated by servomotors, allowing a wide range of materials of different quality and thickness to be to processed. It also features a servomotor-operated infeed screw and a motorised belt to rotate the plates for cylindrical bottles.
