Producers of packaging machinery are increasingly being asked to design machines that are capable of handling different size products in accordance with customers’ needs.
In other words, versatility is becoming an increasingly crucial characteristic. A machine is most useful if it can operate in many different areas of production, and this includes an ability to package products of many different sizes.
A solution to these needs is offered by the XP series of in-line infeed automatic overlap shrinkwrappers designed by Smipack, a company that builds and markets a wide range of packaging machines: L-Seal hood machines; manual, semiautomatic and automatic L-Sealers; intermittent and box motion automatic side sealers; shrink tunnels; semiautomatic and automatic shrinkwrappers with sealing bar and overlap shrinkwrappers; automatic handle applicators.
The XP series has an excellent quality-to-price ratio and is particularly suitable for packaging various sizes of bottles, cans, boxes, trays, cartons, jars and much more for a range of market sectors including beverages, food, wine and spirits, cosmetics and detergents.
Smipack a Ipack Ima 2018
At IPACK-IMA the company will be displaying its models XP650 ARX and XP650 ALX, both with film climb and pack wrapping controlled by brushless servomotors and a production capacity of up to 25 packs/minute.
Thanks to its design, the model XP650 ARX is suitable for packaging all kinds of products made of glass, plastic or metal, especially those with an oval shape or a square or rectangular base. The reduced size and possibility of connecting the production line directly to the 90° conveyor infeed without the addition of accumulation and flanking conveyors make this machine highly flexible and compact compared to the inline solution.
Model XP650 ALX is extremely compact and ideal for inline packaging of round products as it is equipped with an electromechanical oscillating sorter as standard, or for rectangular, square or oval products with the addition of a divider.
