Participating in the prestigious trade show IPACK IMA 2018, Schib Packaging will celebrate its 50th Anniversary.
For the Italian producer who designs, manufactures and installs primary and secondary flow wrapping systems for the food and non-food industries, the year 2018 marks an important milestone as the business evolves from a family-run business to one of global relevance as one of the packaging companies within the BW Flexible Systems division of Barry-Wehmiller.
Barry-Wehmiller is a global leader in flexible packaging, with more than 12,000 team members spread across 100-plus locations around the globe.
Besides Schib, the division also consists of Hayssen Flexible Systems, Hudson-Sharp, Thiele, Rose Forgrove, Sandiacre and Symach - all of which collectively provide a wide range of packaging solutions.

Schib is participating in this year’s Ipack-Ima (Hall 7 – Booth B17) together with its sister companies: Hayssen Flexible Systems from Mestrino (who specialize in vertical packaging systems and multihead scales); Hudson-Sharp (bag converting technology); and Symach (who specializes in pre-formed bag filling and palletizing systems).
Among its other innovations, Schib Packaging will present the redesigned horizontal flow wrapper Schib CO 90. This noteworthy product features improved components and groups, and is equipped with an updated software package.
To reach maximum productivity and quality performance, an optional Industry 4.0 package is also available, enabling remote connection, real-time diagnostic support and collection of statistics.
A special robotic solution developed by integrator Essebi Automation with the support of Staubli Robotics Italia performs the feeding process.
Thanks to these recent integrations, the speed of the Schib system exhibited at Ipack-Ima will reach 300 snack packs per minute.
Moreover, at the event in Milan, Hayssen Flexible Systems will present the new vertical form fill seal machineHayssen Doyzip 380 with a multi-head scale.
